Lisa Stone

With an overwhelming level of accuracy and an eye for detail, Lisa ensures that the firm and clients are never let down, especially on the big issues. This, coupled with an ability to over deliver, has earned Lisa respect at the highest levels within the industry and with our clients.

Lisa joined Maxim as a senior manager in 1997 and became a Partner in 2000. In 2016, Lisa decided to take a step back and become a Principal to continue delivering a high standard of service to her clients in a different capacity.

Being attuned to differing personalities and sensitive matters comes easily to Lisa. Many of Maxim's large family businesses often have unique challenges to contend with. This requires a balance of intellectual and emotional intelligence to get the best result. Lisa will always balance these challenges and provide advice in an informative and fair manner, taking the time to explain the detail to ensure all parties have a thorough understanding of the advice. These skills are exceptionally important when dealing with family law matters.  Lisa champions this service offering at Maxim and is one of the leaders of our Litigation Support Services team.  Lisa has been engaged by family lawyers for over 25 years for her property industry, business and taxation expertise.  This experience is invaluable when assisting a client’s legal team making sense of complex financial disclosure documents and in negotiating settlements for her clients.

Lisa has a special interest in property development and professional practices and spends most of her client time in these areas.

Lisa's other achievements include being recognised in the accounting industry by acting as the 2009 Chairperson for the ACT Regional Council for the Institute of Chartered Accountants and was awarded the designation of Fellow by CAANZ in 2007 for leadership in the industry.  In keeping with putting time back into the profession, Lisa is currently the Chair of the ACT Public Practice Advisory Committee for CAANZ. Lisa is also a Board member of ACT Tennis and Stella Bella Little Stars Foundation.

In her free time Lisa volunteers with local organisations in need of specialised accounting expertise, nurtures her beautiful daughter Olivia and spends quality time with her extended family unit.
